The medal is made of 24 carat gold and is enriched with 1 carat tanzanite.
Value of the medal
The medal has collectible value. The issue of medals is limited to 100 pieces, with 50 pieces intended for individual sale and the remaining 50 pieces to be sold in cassettes containing 4 pieces of medals.

The obverse of the medal depicts the Maasai tribe living in Tanzania, and above their heads is set tanzanite, a gemstone found nowhere else in the world, only in their territory of Tanzania.
